Flexible Activities in app (iOS)

Tiimo is excited to launch flexible activities - activities that have no scheduled time and can be played and paused through the day
Flexible activities, which have no set start time, have been the most requested feature by our users. Creating it has involved our greatest development challenge to date, and has affected almost the entire existing build of Tiimo - but it is finally here! We are hugely, ridiculously, giddily excited by this feature, as we believe flexible activities will bring a whole new dimension to scheduling your day.
Flexible Activities are tied to a particular day but not a particular time. You can still set a duration for them, leave yourself notes or use a checklist with them, but the big difference is that they do not have a fixed start or end time. This allows you to have several different activities happening at the same time. You are also able to play, pause and restart them. We believe this is a lot more reflective of daily life and the fact that people often have to do multiple things during one time period. Don’t worry, you can still use Tiimo exactly how you did before, and plan your activities into a timed schedule. But now you also have the option to not set a specific time for certain activities as well!
Integrating new types of activities like this into our app has not only required a big change to how the app works, but also how it looks. We will walk you through some of the changes now, as we are also aware that for some of you who are sensitive to visual changes you might need some extra time to process the new way that the app will look.

Flexible activities now mean that you can see more than one ongoing activity in the ‘right now view’ at the same time. Simply click on the activity that you would like to focus on.
Image text: The ‘My Day view’ showing the separate types of activity running today
The My Day view is now divided into two areas: to do anytime and planned. The ‘to do anytime’ flexible activities (at the top of the view) still have a duration, but they can be started, paused and restarted at any point during the day. The planned activities (at the bottom of the view) appear as per your regular schedule and have a defined start and end time.

Creating an activity has the same set up, until you ‘add time’. Now you can decide if you want to start it ‘any time during the day’ (image b) or give it a specific start and end time (image c). Depending on your selection, the activity will be put into the relevant area on your ‘today view’ (as in Image 2 above). You are able to change between both types when you edit the activity.
For our Android users: Thank you so much for your patience! We are still committed to integrating all the new features into the Android app, but are currently prioritising working on existing bugs. Our Android developer is working flat out to deliver a quality Tiimo experience on all makes and models of Android devices, and is also hoping to launch some new features in the app within the next month. We learn a lot from launching on iOS first and so hopefully we will be able to bring you the newer features that you are after at a quicker pace over the next year. We really appreciate your understanding.
We hope that you will be as excited for this new feature as we are! You will be able to see more content on how the feature works on our social channels when it launches in the next few days, so please keep an eye out on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or comments, and we would also love to see some of the new activities that you create 💖 This feature was requested by users, so we built it - we take user feedback very seriously, and it has made the app what it is today! So if there’s something you think the app is missing, please let us know at hello@tiimo.dk.
